Great Expectations Ch. 1-11

Ch. 1
"You fail, or you go from my words in any partickler, no matter how small it is, and your heart and ..., roasted and ate,"(12)
  I chose this quote because it shows that Pip is being put into a difficult situation. it is on of the first confrontations of the story. It also shows that he is very vulnurable.

Ch.2
"On the present occasion, though i was hungry, i dared not eat my slice. i felt that i must have something in reserve for my dreadful young man...therefore i refused to put my hunk of bread and butter down my trousers,"(17)
  This just shows us readers what kind of person he is. He is willing to sacrifice things on his behalf.


Ch.3
"It was a rimy morning, and very damp. i had seen the damp lying on the outside of my little window, as if some goblin had been crying there all night,...a pocket-handkercheif,"(23)
  I chose this quote because it was something that stuck out to me in this chapter. It was at the very beginning of the chapter setting the scene. It was a unique wayof saying that it was a cold night and that it was damp.

Ch. 5
"All these things i saw without then knowing that i saw them, for i was in an agony of apprehension."(39)

Creative Writing "Attempt"

    Only the Beginning

     So i had gotten to school and i saw a whole bunch of these loser turkeys standing around waiting to get eaten or something.I mean if i were them i would had dug out long time ago. But im a goblin and i find turkeys to be disgusting creatures. No way would i be caught eatting one of those. Talk about ecoli. Well anyways, i walked over to see what all the fuss was about and thats when i saw one of the new students dead on the ground.
    No one knew what had happened but all started pointing fingers to the obvious suspects, us goblins. In their mind they actually thinking of the Crew Boys. They never liked turkeys to begin with and if given the chance i know they would kill them all. Evryone knew it was them but for the simple reason of not being haunted for the rest of your high school career, people didnt say a word. Finally after the silence of the horro was broken by the school bell.
    Lucky for me, turkeys and goblins were segregated into different parts of the school, for safety reasons id hope. When i got into my first period the only thing i could think of is me and my "buddy" working together in class.His name was Don Crash, and he was the head of the Crew Boys. He never had a thing for liking others but if you were a turkey then you really needed to stay as far as possible.
Anyways as soon as i walked in he was sitting there next to my seat and there was definitely something different about him. He was sweating and agitated, and the weirdest part about it is he was do his classwork. He never did that ever. I sat down and he turned towards my direction but he just started talking to another member of the Crew Boys. i couldnt hear what they were discussing but i picked out a few words that didn't make sense,"Did...turkey...quiet..too much...meet." The principal came on the radio and started to talk about the situation that happened and said that she waould be closing school. It was like a bomb threat had been set on the school and everyone had left. i saw Don walking but his home was the opposite direction. i knew something was up and so i decided to follow him. But it slowly lead to a part of the town the i wasnt familiar with.
   

"Where art thou Romeo"

    From the moment that  i heard the story "Romeo and Juliet" i thought;"What a weird story." first off i was very confused when i started to read in my 11th grade class but i made it by. Then over the 2011 summer i decided to read it online. I felt i needed to refresh my memory.
     The main characters are obviously Romeo and Juliet. One is a Montegue and the other a Capulet. Both families dislike each other greatly and if given the chance, they would take the other out.
     Many people already know the general plot of the story. The problem with that is we think we don't need to read the story. So now you don't actually know what goes on in the story. So there are kids from the two house holds that fall in love but they're not supposed to. Its basically a romantic drama.
     To my absolute delight i hated the book even more than before. The first time i read it i didn't like it a whole lot. It drove me nuts trying to wrap my head around the fact that they would do such dumb things. It reminds me of another book Shakespeare wrote, Othello, which i also hated. Its also the type of book where the events aren't right in front of you. You need to think in the time period. But wait, if you're the type of person that love his books then by all means this is the book for you. Be WARNED. It ruined my persona of the Romeo and Juliet story.

Kids Gone Wild

     "Hoe, your in the band!" "Why yes little monsters," which is all i could think of when he asked me that. But all i really did was nod and say yes. Many may already know that i'm in the band here at Kahuku High School. Whenever the band heads out to the stands, it's a struggle because you're attacked by little kids that constantly try to hit the percussion instruments. Well, anyways, they stare at us as if we dont see them playing the drum, let alone hear it. I ask them in my most polite manner to stop " hittin der drumm!," but that never works.
     Now imagine if they had just a weebit of control when i tell them to stop. Then they'd be controlled proper kids- at least close to that. Parents should disipline their children so that they'll follow what is asked of them.
     Also another thing that these kids love to do is hang out underneath the Kahuku bleachers. During the past years i've noticed that they've been doing more and more things without parental supervision. If someone were to get hurt then it would likely be the schools fault. And yet they're not supposed to be there.
     For me it just doesnt make sense why parents are so "invested" into the game, that they put their children in second place.

Beetle Dung

 
  I chose this title simply because i thought it was funny and random. Its also something that i would find interesting and that i would want to look at. Its not neccessarily a thing that relates to me, its just a name that popped into my head plain and simple.
